This 10-story luxury apartment block is situated between the sea and Victoria Road. Kantey &
Templer were appointed for the lateral support, structural, civils, roads and traffic impact assessment.
The excavation was carried out in very challenging conditions where a vertical 27m rock face was cut
against the property boundary. The RC structure is founded on the granite rock at 8m above sea level.
The structure consists of a 10 storey RC frame using ordinary reinforced flat slabs. The building is
braced with RC shear walls in the lift shafts and “back of house” areas. The parking is serviced via a
double car lift. The structure posed many challenges including pools on balconies and a “bridge”
structure at the rear of the building to support the widening of Victoria Road
