Duties:
- Review of Contractors design with support from home office design team.
- Review of Contractors proposed method of work.
- Ensure compliance of contractors work with the project Scope, Standards & Specifications.
- Review contractors’ selection of materials for compliance with specifications.
- Monitor, co-ordinate and inspect the contractor’s work.
- Witness testing and certification of the Contractor’s work.
- Monitoring of Project progress in terms of schedule.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with the Contractor to resolve all design and construction issues.
- Attend site meetings with Contractor on matters concerning:
- Designs
- Procedures
- Progress
- Construction works.
- Constraints
- Work as integrated team with Project Safety Supervisor/ Officers assigned for the Project.
- Support the issuing of daily work permits and monitoring.
- Inspect and ensure that works are carried out in accordance with approved designs.
- Review of the availability of necessary materials and supplies as well as adequacy of the Contractor’s site staff and labour for the execution of the works.
- Coordinate with the Client and ensure a minimal disruption to the Client’s normal operations especially during tie-in/ shutdown durations.
- Maintain an accurate record of all tests and inspections conducted, findings, and test reports.
- Evaluate work done by the Contractor and verify Contractor’s progress payment claims, issue payment certificate to the Project Manager, and make recommendations on variation order items instructed by the Client.
- Advise Project Manager of any or potential claim situations. Ensure all facts/ data are recorded – make recommendations to Project Manager.
- Liaise with terminal staff, local authority, and Project Manager to pro-actively identify and attend to potential problems.
- Regularly audit site instruction books, site diaries, testing procedures, etc.
- Propose extra work rates to the Project Manager.
- Agree variations to a limit set by the Project Manager and prepare all VOs for formal issue by the Project Manager.
- Agree progress quantities with Project Manager.
- Prepare draft payment certificates for formal issue by the Project Manager.
- Regularly vet dayworks and authorize items.
- Inspect works on regular basis and ensure contractor closes out snag items on an ongoing basis.
- Agree final snag lists.
- Assist with commissioning.
- Counter sign acceptance certificates for sections of work tested and commissioned.
- Agree final quantities during the contract and on completion.
Prior Learning / Special Skills:
- Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineering Design Experience.
- Extensive Construction supervision Experience.
- Quality Control experience in electrical, instrumentation and control installations at fuel storage and distribution depots.
- Experience in Fuel storage and handling infrastructure, Terminals, and Depots.
- Leadership skills.
Computer Literacy:
- MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project.
Qualifications:
- Technical tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Professionally registered.

- Hard Working & reliable.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own with minimal supervision.
- Proactive attitude.
- Good technical knowledge.
- Efficient and quick with admin.
- Able to communicate well, both verbally and in written form.
