Engen Petroleum (Pty) Ltd propose the closure of Murchison Street Motors situated on property described as Erf 326 Newcastle, on 20 Murchison Street in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal. The project will therefore entail the permanent decommissioning and removal of their underground fuel storage tanks with a combined capacity of 83 m3 and auxiliary components.
The decommissioning activity constitutes listed activity 31 identified in Listing Notice 1 of 2014, for which an Environmental Authorization is required from the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs: Amajuba District region prior to commencement of the activity.
